Today in Kitakata and Kamikawa

Today has been a pretty busy day. In the morning Kentaro-san and I left for Kitakata to erect one of his statues in front of the city hall. On the way, Kentaro-san has showed me some of his work and a peculiar temple. Once arrived, once again, we have met with the mayor, therefore we began to work. We were there for about 3 or 4 hours, thankfully the weather was not too hot this morning. It involved some heavy duty tools and I got the chance to use some of them. Many people working at the city hall came to greet Kentaro-san and admire his work.
Afterwards we drove to Kentaro-san’s high school where some more of his statues were displayed and nearby we went for lunch. I have heard since last time that Kitakata’s ramen is really famous, and my large portion of “Student Ramen” was absolutely delicious. The shop was very small but packed with customers.
We then drove to Kamikawa for onsen at a small ryokan in the mountains near Agamachi. We were greeted by hosts who are friends of Kentaro-san’s. They have offered us some cold drinks and then we bathed in the onsen pool. The hosts have been really kind and have given me a 2kg pack of rice and Kentaro-san few bags of vegetables.
Today has been one of the most diverse days for me, yet it has been a long day of driving and some work.


　今日はかなり忙しい一日でした。朝７時、賢太郎さんと私は、喜多方に向かい、市役所前に石像を建てました。途中、賢太郎さんは、有名な長床と言う寺院私に見せてくれました。到着すると、私たちは市長と会いました。

私たちは設置にかかりました。4時間ほどそこにいましたが、ありがたいことに今朝は暑すぎなかったのです。それはいくつかの頑丈ラフタークレーンを使用する機会を得ました。 市役所で働く多くの人々が、賢太郎さんに挨拶し、彼の作品を賞賛しに来ました。
その後、私たちは賢太郎さんが卒業した高校に行きました。そこでは賢太郎さんの彫刻がありました。お昼になり、北方のラーメンは本当に有名で、 私の「学生ラーメン」の絶対に美味しかったです。
その後、阿賀町の山中にある小さな旅館で、温泉のためにプレゼントとして車で行きました。私たちは、賢太郎さんの友人である女将に迎えられました。冷たい飲み物を提供し、温泉プールを浴びました。ホストは本当に親切で、私に米2kgパックと賢太郎さんに野菜の袋を与えてくれました。
今日は私にとって最も多様な日の一つでしたが、それは運転といくつかの仕事の長い一日でした。
