ウーファー殺到

 ウーフとは、人と人の交流を意味します。２０１４年ウーフホストをして以来、我が家には１２か国から外国人がやって来ました。

一年目は二か国２人、私は彼らを迎えに会津若松駅まで迎えに行きました。今は豊実駅で迎えます。２年目は４か国４人、３年目は７か国９人、今年は既に５か国１０人です。これは異状かも知れません、普通ではありません。常に我が家には外国人が滞在している状態です。

 いくらホームページでコスモ夢舞台を紹介しても、日本人は魅力あるところと思わないのでしょうか、来てくれません。ところが、遠い外国から我が家を選んで毎日のように、来たいという問い合わせがあります。それもコスモ夢舞台のホームページではなく、ウーフジャパンの限られた１０枚の掲載写真を見てのことです。

どうしてでしょう？

私は多くの外国人を受け入れながら、学んでいます。そして肌で感じています。しかしこの行動は、叶えてくれる家内の協力があってのことであります。直接我が家の金銭収益につながるものではありません。

感動すること、好奇心がそうさせるのであります。彼らと言葉がままならないことがしばしばあります、その壁を越えているのです。好奇心がないなら、面倒だというのが大方だと思います。日本では北海道がウーフのホストが多く、新潟県でウーフホストをしているのは、現在休眠中の一軒を除いて我が家だけです。

 このことばかりでありませんが、だからこそ私たちは普通の価値観だけでは生きていけないと思います。

ところでこの交流から学ぶことは、（１）感動はその時で終わりと思うこと。（２）日本人に比べ外国人は異国の文化を学びたいという若者が多い。（３）言葉が解らなくても、やって来るチャレンジ精神などです。

それに対して私が教えることは、（１）自分でもできないこともありますが、日本の挨拶やマナー。（２）私の生き方や価値観を伝える。これは外国との親善交流になります。（３）忘れてならないのは食事が美味しいということ。食生活の重要性などです。

受け入れは絶えず挑戦です。好奇心です。そして日本を伝えることです。

自分と違うところから学ぶ経験は大切だと思います。世界各国のウファーは、それを実践しています。ギリシャやモロッコについて私が書いた体験紀行文を、ぜひお読みいただけたらと思います。

This is the 3rd day of my WWOOFF experience. Since the first day , I have seen and tried many things new that I have never seen in my life. It’s such a wonderful experience. I had tried wood cutting. It may be tired and hot in the Summer but it is also fun, I think it’s a new experience that I must try once in my life. And the bath , I had took the bath in the onsen with the wonderful view just like in paradise as the name ‘Paradise Bath’ I took the wood for fire of the onsen. It’s such the thing that hard to seen in nowadays. I like these traditional thing in here and also the natural of this place such as rice field , the wooden studio and bath in forrest , the gallery that has many beautiful art. Everything is so amazing!

Wwoofing for the first time with Kentaro-san and his wife is really good experience although this is just the third day of being a wwoofer. I am from Thailand together with one friend. Before coming to Japan we are young women who never try the work that use lots of energy but when working with Kentaro-san we become stronger and stronger. The activities happen here are so many things to learn, I learn how to use the machine to cut the wood and use the wood to be fire. There is a bath on the mountain located where we work. It is an amazing place, taking a hot bath among nature is such a wonderful experience. After work we will enjoy meals that Makiko-san（Kentaro-san`s wife）cook every day. It is not only very delicious but always healthy food and everything is organic. We eat rice from Kentaro-san field which has no chemical. I love the food she made so much whether there is no meat at all  they are vegetarian. The surrounding here is also surprised me. There is a river behind the house and all surrounded by nature, mountain. The sky is also amazing at night, a lot of stars. I really enjoy the time!
